Nepal Biogas Project: First Payment Made

The first payment of $592,200 under the Nepal Biogas Project has been made for successful delivery of 4,772 new biogas plants.The GPOBA program is providing a total of US$5 million in support, which will provide payment for the verified installation of up to 37,000 new biogas plants in 48 remote districts of Nepal.

Leveraging Private Sector Finance for Rural Piped Water Infrastructure in Kenya: The Use of Output-Based Aid (October 2009)
An innovative project in Kenya is facilitating access to finance for community-based water providers by blending output-based subsidies and commercial finance. Output-Based Aid in Honduras: An OBA Facility for the Water and Sanitation Sector (September 2009)
Honduras

Honduras has achieved reasonable access to water supply and sanitation, but there are gaps in covering rural and peri-urban areas. A project supported by GPOBA will aim to improve access to water and sanitation services for about 15,000 low income households.

Training Workshop on OBA for World Bank Group Staff
GPOBA conducted a 2-day Output-Based Aid (OBA) Training for TTLs on July 28-29 in Washington, DC. The second of these workshops focused on the use of OBA approaches to improve delivery of basic services to the poor. The course, which will be held every quarter in Washington DC, was attended by 24 World Bank TTLs. Read more >>
The Global Partnership on Output-Based Aid (GPOBA) is a global partnership, initially established as a multi-donor trust fund, which aims to fund, design, demonstrate and document OBA approaches to support the sustainable delivery of basic services to those least able to afford them and to those currently without access.
