Mainstreaming OBA in the World Bank
This short session provided an update on the use of OBA in the World Bank, including challenges and lessons learned to date. The session focused on two case studies in the Urban sector: Morocco Urban Water, and Armenia Heating and Gas. Both projects involve providing basic services to the urban poor through performance-based subsidies to help make access more affordable.

Designing and Implementing an OBA project in the World Bank
Participants were able to explore in detail and in practice some of the key challenges in designing and implementing OBA schemes within Bank projects. This enabled participants to adopt OBA approaches in a wide range of projects, from small rural communities to urban and peri-urban areas, with a focus on the water and energy sectors.
