Activity Objectives:

This is a training course to build awareness of OBA within the donor community in India. Upon completion of the training, the participants will be able to:

i) distinguish between what it means to structure an input-based project vs. an OBA project;
ii) understand the Core Concepts of an OBA project;
iii) understand how to determine whether a situation/environment is suitable for an OBA project;
iv) know how to use GPOBA resources to assist in incorporating OBA in their projects; and
v) develop a design for an OBA project, including understanding how to define output, different targeting methodologies, forms and uses of subsidies, and how to monitor OBA projects.

GPOBA's role:

GPOBA is to fund the entire dissemination and training activity, which is in line with GPOBA’s strategic objective of increasing the adoption of OBA approaches by donors, IFIs and developing countries.

The main deliverables to be funded by GPOBA include:

  • Update of training materials and agenda – By end of January 2011
  • Course delivery  - February 21&22, 2011 (tbc)
  • Course evaluation and reporting – Not later than March 30, 2011
