April 7, 2008 -- Lack of clean water and proper sanitation is a major reason why Vietnam has one of the highest rates of child malnutrition in east Asia, according to the East Meets West Foundation (EMW), an international NGO with over 10 years’ experience in Vietnam’s water sector.
GPOBA recently awarded a $3 million grant to support EMW’s efforts to increase access to clean water for 150,000 rural residents in Vietnam, using an innovative output-based aid approach. You can read all about the unique partnership between EMW and GPOBA in an article in the winter/spring 2008 issue of EMW’s “Reach Vietnam” magazine.
