Water and Sanitation
Activity Objectives:

The diagnostic tool aims to outline, at a high-level, the various factors to decide the suitability of OBA in a given context. The tool explores areas and issues, baseline conditions, and mitigating factors to potential challenges, that may arise in the consideration of OBA suitability.

Project Update:

Funding for this activity has been approved by PMU.

Development Impact:
GPOBA is learning more about how to scale-up and mainstream OBA in government programs and operations. This learning process draws from the experience of OBA pilots which help practitioners understand the key prerequisites in considering the usage of OBA in different contexts.   These factors and questions are central to the rationale for having a diagnostic tool as a way to provide guidance to practitioners about OBA feasibility and to encourage the use of OBA as an approach to addressing the basic infrastructure and social services needs of teh poor in developing countries.
GPOBA's role:

GPOBA will fund the cost of this activity as it supports the program's effort to mainstream OBA and the goal to transition into a Center of Expertise by fiscal year 2012/13.
