Initiating an OBA fund in Uganda's water sector (Phase 3)

Country   (and Region): Uganda  (Africa)
Sector(s): Water and Sanitation
Activity Objectives:

The objective of this activity is help define the specific components of a proposed OBA fund for the Uganda water sector (e.g. including isues like where the Independent Verification Agent (IVA) should sit, how the flow of funds would work, and where procurement decisions would be made), so that a final decision can be made by the Ministry of Water and other development partners, most likely through the Sector Working Group. The deliverables would be:

  1. Detailed framework/options report;
  2. Operations manual; and
  3. A series of work shops/awareness/consensus building events.

The task team would also participate in discussions regarding actual allocation of funds, although this will ultimately be a decision for the sector working group to make.
