OBA Training for the African Development Bank (AfDB)

Activity Objectives:

This is a 1 ½-2-day training course to build awareness of OBA within AfDB. Upon completion of the training, the participants will be able to:

i) distinguish between what it means to structure an input-based project vs. an OBA project;
ii) understand the Core Concepts of an OBA project;
iii) understand how to determine whether a situation/environment is suitable for an OBA project;
iv) know how to use GPOBA resources to assist in incorporating OBA in their projects; and
v) develop a design for an OBA project, including understanding how to define output, different targeting methodologies, forms and uses of subsidies, and how to monitor OBA projects.
