OBA Training for DFID/PIDG Facilities

Activity Objectives:

This is a 2-day training course to build awareness of OBA within the PIDG facilities and some staff from DFID. Upon completion of the training, the participants will be able to:

i) distinguish between what it means to structure an input-based project vs. an OBA project;
ii) understand the Core Concepts of an OBA project;
iii) understand how to determine whether a situation/environment is suitable for an OBA project;
iv) know how to use GPOBA resources to assist in incorporating OBA in their projects; and
v) develop a design for an OBA project, including understanding how to define output, different targeting methodologies, forms and uses of subsidies, planning of fiduciary requirements (if applicable) and how to monitor OBA projects.

GPOBA's role:

GPOBA is funding the entire dissemination and training activity, as it is a core activity in line with GPOBA’s strategic objective of increasing the adoption of OBA approaches by donors, IFIs and developing countries.
