Initiating an OBA fund in Uganda’s water sector

Activity Objectives:

The project will work with key stakeholders (Ministry of Water, Ministry of Finance, development partners/donors) to determine if a scale-up of Output-Based Aid (OBA) in the water sector harmonized through existing systems would be feasible. If so, the aim is to develop a Concept Note on how that might look, and to discuss the Concept Note with the identified stakeholders to make preliminary decisions and determine next steps (institutional arrangements, funds flows, contributors, etc).

Development Impact:

Increased access to improved water supply services through PPP arrangements determined on competitive basis to enhance efficiency.
