GPOBA conducted a 2-day Output-Based Aid (OBA) Training for World Bank TTLs on July 28-29, 2009 in Washington, DC. The second of these trainings focused on the use of OBA approaches to improve delivery of basic services to the poor. The course covered the following:
The course, which will be held every quarter in Washington, DC, was attended this time by 24 World Bank TTLs. One registrant, Said Al Habsy, Operations Adviser in Islamabad, Pakistan said that he wanted to attend the training to advise TTLs on new lending instruments, and to see viable options for using OBA for projects in Pakistan.
The training session was interactive with real case studies, exercises, and discussions. It was taught by subject matter experts, including a TTL from the Africa Region who is already using OBA.
