EMWF Rural Water Supply Development Project—GPOBA Dissemination

Activity Objectives:

To disseminate experience and lessons learned following the introduction of an Output-Based Approach (OBA) in the EMWF clean water and sanitation program. The activity will also promote OBA as an effective approach to foster accountability and sustainability for service delivery in rural water supply in Vietnam, at the provincial, regional and national levels.

GPOBA's role:

GPOBA’s role is to finance an advocacy workshop in Danang to disseminate lessons learned to date and present the OBA approach for sustainable delivery of rural water supply services to provincial and regional policy makers, local authorities, donors, and practitioners. Further, GPOBA will finance an advocacy workshop in Hanoi to present the results of the Danang workshop and further disseminate the initial benefits and lessons learned of the OBA approach piloted in central Vietnam. Participants will include policy makers, donors, and NGOs working on clean water and sanitation, the National Target Program. The revision of the National Rural Water and Sanitation Strategy will also be discussed.
