AusAID is the Australian Government agency responsible for managing Australia's overseas aid program.
 
The objective of the aid program is to assist developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia's national interest.
 
AusAID provides advice and support to the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary on development policy, and plans and coordinates poverty reduction activities in partnership with developing countries.
 
AusAID's head office is in Canberra. AusAID also has representatives in 25 Australian diplomatic missions overseas.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, creates opportunity for people to escape poverty and improve their lives.
 
IFC fosters sustainable economic growth in developing countries by supporting private sector development, mobilizing private capital, and providing advisory and risk mitigation services to businesses and governments.
 
IFC’s new investments totaled US$16.2 billion in fiscal 2008, a 34 percent increase over the previous year.

Development cooperation is one of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ principal tasks. The Netherlands contributes four billion euros per year towards the development of poor countries around the world.
 
In October 2007, Minister for Development Cooperation Bert Koenders presented his new development policy, ‘Our Common Concern: investing in development in a changing world.’
 
The new policy emphasizes more Dutch investment in fragile states and in countries which have the most ground to make up in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, is a government agency under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Sida’s goal is to contribute to making it possible for poor people to improve their living conditions.
 
Like other Swedish government agencies, Sida works independently within the framework laid down by the Swedish Parliament and Government.
 

They specify the budgets, the countries with which Sweden - and therefore Sida – will work with, and the priorities for Swedish international development cooperation.

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty.
 
DFID supports long-term programs to help tackle the underlying causes of poverty. It also responds to emergencies, both natural and man-made.
 
DFID’s activities form part of a global promise to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. DFID works directly in over 150 countries worldwide, with a budget of £5.3 billion in 2007/08. Its headquarters are in London and East Kilbride, near Glasgow.
